US

Senses of Cuba is your European DMC with a main office in the heart of Havana, close to all important sights and hotels. Focussing on a sophisticated upmarket clientele with tailormade programs for FITs, luxury travellers, special interest groups, incentive groups, cruiseships and more. Profit from more than 16 years of experience in Cuba, a complex but fascinating destination. With a mixed European and Cuban team of about 30 professionals, we create unique programs and experiences for travellers showing both, the “nostalgic” and the “New Cuba”.
Bernd Herrmann (general manager and owner) living in Havana since 2001, and his team have created and managed a growing number of incentive- and tailormade programs in Cuba with clients from world renowned international companies reaching from the auto, finance, construction and food sector to the IT, insurance and pharmaceutical industry.
The Senses of Cuba team is here to share it’s passion with you by offering different aspects of Cuba that do not follow the mass tourism. Working with one collective mission. Because Cuba is more than our job, it’s our passion.

“Cuba is one of the safest long distance destinations” – Interview with Bernd Herrmann

Published: 25 September, 2020
The German Federal Foreign Office has extended the travel warning for destinations outside Europe until the end of September. It will be decided in the next few days whether after that Germans can travel to Cuba again without any problems. Touristik Aktuell spoke to the former Airtours manager Bernd Herrmann. Even though Cuba is doing outstandingly well in global comparison, when it comes to the pandemic, the opening of the borders for international tourism as well as roundtrips will take a bit longer than expected. We are now estimating earliest in November or probably in  December. We unfortunately do not have any concrete information from the Cuban government at the moment. But can people not already travel to the Cayos? Yes, ...

Prospects of the coming winter season

Published: 04 September, 2020
Cuba opening carefully step by step – Total reopening expected in November/December 2020! It is safe to say that Cuba is in a relatively good position in its fight against the pandemic, compared to many other countries worldwide. Mostly due to a very precautious strategy, which is also the reason why a total reopening for international tourism is taking longer than first expected. Based on our current estimation, the country including its capital Havana, will open earliest in November or more probable in December this year. There no has been any official statement regarding to set an opening date from the Cuban Ministry of Tourism yet. Nevertheless, already in August some of the international airports like Santa Clara, Cayo Coco and Cayo Largo, which serve the Cuban islands at the north coast (Cayo Coco/Cuillermo, Cayo Cruz) and in the south (Cayo Largo), have been opened for international tourism, although strictly ...
